It’s so easy to give in to social pressures: ugly people, fat people, nerds, geeks aren’t as important as beautiful, rich people. Young people don’t know enough. Old people can’t relate or are out of step with reality.
The truth is, in Christ there is no partiality. If Christ can make a donkey prophesy, why do we hold people with more extravagant gifts in esteem. Christ gives gifts not because we are worthy of them, but because we were open to receiving them, and even then it is the Holy Spirit working in that person to provide the grace and the freedom to say “yes”.
The truth is: only God is good, and only His opinion matters.
